Program Description: 

The Tenderloin (TL) Boys & Girls Club K-8 Afterschool Program operates M-F, 2-7pm. Effective youth development programs focus on 4 outcome areas: Academic Success, Good Character & Community Engagement, Healthy Lifestyles, and Job Readiness with Earning Potential. The Club serves a diverse range of low-income youth ages 6-13, including Asian, Latino, Arab-American, African-American and multi-ethnic youth. Many youth members live upstairs from the Club in Mercy Housing, with the vast majority living within walking distance of the TL Club. Many members are recent immigrants. Programs reflect the needs and interests of TL youth, with a specific focus on academic suppport & community engagement.
