Program Description:

The San Francisco Youth Chorus is a community-based, multilevel children's chorus, which welcomes both boys and girls from birth - 18 years-old. We are committed to promoting healthful and beautiful singing, while encouraging all youth to express their creativity through song, dance, acting, and improvisation, within a safe and stimulating environment of musical camaraderie. With theory and musicianship studies being carefully interwoven into our weekly rehearsals, retreats, and workshops, it is also is our goal to build and advance the musicianship of every young singer.

Founded in 2015 by Artistic Director Katherine Gerber, SFYC's is dedicated to reaching the greater San Francisco/Bay Area, in particular, by offering rehearsal and performance opportunities in the neighborhoods of West Portal, The Sunset District, Forest Hill and Lakeshore. We are a chorus of the future, and we want to hear the voice of every last singer, not just their singing voice, but their own vision as members of SFYC, and how we as a ground-breaking SF ensemble, may work together to create an incredible journey for singers and audience members alike. Come sing with us!
