Program Description:

Juma Ventures' mission is to break the cycle of poverty by ensuring that young people complete a four-year college degree. Juma's Pathways to Advancement program recruits students as high school sophomores and supports them through completion of college, setting them on the path to a family-sustaining income. The program's core services (employment in social enterprises, academic support, and assets services) compliment each other and provide a comprehensive support system. In 2014 Juma will serve approximately 130 low-income, first-in-family youth in San Francisco with 36 hours of group and/or individual activities. Additionally, each program participant will work 2 hours per week at one of Juma's social enterprises.
