HI USA's Outdoor Hostel Adventure (OHA) is an environmental education program that fosters youth appreciation, exploration and stewardship of the natural world, and facilitates cooperation, team building, and intercultural understanding.Learning with our skilled Naturalist staff, youth participating in OHA gain an appreciation and respect for nature, an understanding of basic principles of ecology and human impact on the environment, and a sense of place that fosters stewardship and ecological responsibility in their own lives. All of this takes place within HI USA hostels, where a global community comes to share in the wonder of Northern California's unique environs. Discover wildlife, tide pools, native plants and starry skies during day or overnight trips at three locations: HI-Marin Headlands, HI-Point Reyes and HI-Point Montara Lighthouse.More than 20,000 youth have participated in outdoor and intercultural learning experiences through the Hostel Adventure Program since it was established in 1986. HI USA is especially focused on delivering OHA to underserved communities and we continue to provide Scholarship Awards to qualifying youth.
