The Crucible's one of a kind youth programs inspire creativity, teach responsibility, encourage collaboration and build life skills in a multi-disciplinary industrial arts setting unlike any other in the country.Classes:The Crucible has an extensive array of classes for adults as well as for youth ages 8 to 17. This is a terrific alternative to traditional afterschool programs. Award winning staff and faculty teach a curriculum in welding, bike fabrication, ceramics, glass blowing, jewelry casting, blacksmithing, kinetics, woodcarving, and much more. Classes and workshops are structured around project-based lessons in a non-competitive, open environment where students with diverse interests and backgrounds can work together and learn from each other. While The Crucible's classes cover extensive real-world skills in science, technology, engineering and math, the emphasis is on the creative process and helping youth to find their own voice and process.Camps:Choose from 23 special classes to create either a full-day or half-day camp experience.2014 Week-long Spring Break Sessions: March 31–April 182014 Week-long Summer Sessions: June 23–August 2Ages: 8 and upDays/Times: Mondays to Fridays, 9am–noon or 1pm–4pm (can be combined for a full day; campers bring their own lunch and the lunch hour is supervised) Cost: varies by class from $335 per week and up
