Program Location:
2434 McKinley Avenue
BerkeleyCA 94703
Program Description:

Camp Chrysalis, now in its 30th year, is an overnight, nature summer camp exploring three difference environments in California—the redwoods of Big Sur, tide pooling and canoeing on the Mendocino Coast, and hiking, swimming, and backpacking in the Sierras. The camp has a distinctive approach to environmental education combining learning, play, woodworking, crafts, and personal growth. Campers build community by playing and learning together, and everyone takes care of their gear and each other. Group singing is a special pleasure. Each session includes 32-36 campers (12 for backpacking) and eight experienced staff to provide campers lots of individual attention. Fully half the campers are girls. Camp Chrysalis has been around as a small independent enterprise and is truly a hidden gem!2013 Dates:
