Bay Youth for the Environment (BYE) is a youth development and park stewardship program providing year round leadership and environmental education training to high school students via paid internships to youth who reside in the southeastern edge of San Francisco. BYE interns host 6-12 peer to per education service learning programs per year to reach an additional 240 school age children in San Francisco. Additionally, they host 12 volunteer events which reach up to 500 adult volunteers per hear. Youth cohort training talks are presented twice yearly to increase public engagement in stewardship of San Francisco open spaces.
Classes are held on Saturdays, from 9am-1pm, and on occasional weekday evenings from 4pm-6pm.
