Program Description:

The Argonne Afterschool Program aims to give students in grades K–3 a developmentally appropriate program that reinforces what they are learning during the school day, while offering opportunities for new experiences. A typical day at this afterschool program includes homework help, science, health and fitness activities, recreational or art activities, character building, and a nutritious snack. To encourage a healthy lifestyle, the afternoon snack includes a minimum of two food groups. Homework help lasts up to 1 hour per day (depending on each child’s age), and is given in small groups. Kids are also given the chance to customize their experience with Student Designed Clubs on Fridays. Summer camps are offered through Richmond District Neighborhood Center.
