School of Rock, which used to host programs in San Francisco, rocks on in San Mateo. School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music lessons and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting.
Rock 101 teaches the basics of technique and music theory, dynamics of playing in a band, and includes a weekly private lesson and a weekly group rehearsal. The Lessons+ program includes a weekly private music lesson on guitar, bass guitar, vocals, keys and/or drums, access to special member-only artist events, programs and workshops, and discounts off show tickets. The Performance Program offers weekly private music lessons, three-hour band rehearsals to prepare for a rock concert, enhanced learning in key areas such as stage performance, harmonies, musicianship and more.
School of Rock camps welcome musicians of all skill levels who play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals. Camps emphasize live performance through workshops, clinics, and private instruction, in which students learn about playing together in a band and develop stage presence.
