
Root Division provides studio space for artists in exchange for teaching underserved youth and adults and putting on local art shows. Artists teach FREE afterschool classes and workshops at various SFUSD schools as well as youth organizations such as Seven Tepees Youth Program and Bayview/Hunter's Point YMCA. Classes include painting, mixed media, sculpture, and more.Camps:
This camp will focus on creating art projects that use a variety of media and techniques. The theme of the projects will be based on student explorations of their homes, neighborhoods, and other surroundings and will be the basis for visual storytelling. In this class students will create drawings and paintings based on collected and/or collaged photographs. Students will learn how to: create strong compositions; use a variety of drawing and painting techniques; use a transfer grid; and explore identity through art-making.2013 Summer Youth Studio Sessions:
