Organization Description:

Recess' modern, indoor playspace is paradise for adults and kids alike. The pilates classes, tasty coffee & magazines keep parents happy.  Kids burn off energy in the huge area dedicated to free play - on the slide, "cooking" a feast in the play kitchen, or taking a class. Local pediatricians, sleep consultants, nutritionists, & child behavior experts make regular appearances to help parents tackle the arduous tasks of potty training, sleeping through the night and positive discipline. Recess has childcare providers on-hand to watch your kiddo in the adjoining playspace. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs and recess is here to make it a little bit easier!Celebrations: If you're looking for a spot to hold your child's next birthday party, and want to spare your home, look no further.  Recess is available for parties weekday evenings, and Saturday & Sunday afternoons. We also sell unique and beautiful children's toys, decor, and art supplies for newborns to preschoolers. Shop online or in house today!HistoryEstablished in 2008.Family-friendly Potrero Hill is the perfect neighborhood for this nouveau community center called recess urban recreation. The membership-based establishment was born out of a conversation between two local women who agreed that there should really be a place where you can grab a cup of coffee and just let your kid run around.  The founders, an education professional who specializes in learning differences and a former neuroscience researcher turned physical therapist & mom, wove their talents into one as they created this developmentally-rich playspace for kids along side the wellness center for adults.  It's a match made in heaven!
