Organization Description: 

The Indochinese Housing Development Corporation (IHDC) is a for-people organization serving the Southeast Asian (SEA) immigrant community. Its mission is to create a vibrant and dignified Tenderloin community through the purchase, renovation, and management of safe, affordable housing and programs that encourage participation, empowerment, and independence.IHDC helps SEA Tenderloin residents become citizens, learn English, access food, and navigate the educational, public health, and criminal justice systems. IHDC’s Southeast Asian Children, Youth and Family Program (SEACYFP), works with all ages of SEA neighborhood youth and seeks to build their self-esteem. IHDC embeds a community mentoring approach within its programs focused on leadership development, literacy skills development, career development, and nutrition and physical fitness. SEACYFP’s strategies are integral to IHDC’s mission of building a vibrant and dignified community.
