Organization Description: 

Friendship House Association of American Indians Inc., of San Francisco is a residential treatment program for the American Indian community.The Friendship House Youth Program was established in 2001 to provide a comprehensive array of culturally relevant youth services and activities for San Francisco's American Indian community. The project serves American Indian youth ages 0 through 17 living throughout San Francisco, including: children of substance abusers, kids involved in the juvenile justice system, low-income kids, teenage parents, kids living in foster care, GLBTQ kids, and homeless youth. Program activities include the following: cultural activities and events, afterschool programs, field trips, organized sports and recreation, ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) education, wellness education, HIV/STD prevention, life-skills and leadership development training, job readiness, college preparation, and tutoring.
