Organization Description: 

Hundred-year-old California College of the Arts (CCA) is a highly respected arts and design school with campuses in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood and in Oakland. The San Francisco location is home to the school's architecture and design programs plus the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts. The original Oakland campus hosts CCA's undergraduate art programs.Classes:
In the summer, CCA opens its doors to anyone 18 and above to enroll in Extended Education courses at both campuses. Call (510) 594-3710 for more information.Camps:Besides sending teachers and graduate students to teach at local schools, CCA has three outstanding in-house summer youth programs:1. Pre-College Program: High school students from all over the country have an opportunity to work with CCA educators, earn college credits in art or creative writing, and enhance their portfolio. On-campus housing is optional.2013 Four-week-long Summer Session:
Dates: June 24–July 19Location: CCA Oakland campusAddress: 5212 BroadwayAges: entering grades 11–12; open to students completing grade 12Days/Times: Mondays through Fridays, 9am–4pmCost: $2,800 including supplies; housing costs are an additional $895; scholarships available2. Summer Atelier: Incoming 10th graders learn drawing, alternative photographic processes, and screen-printing. Students also visit museums and artists' studios. This is a non-residential program. Classes are limited to 15 students.2013 Three-week-long Summer Sessions:

Courses include: animation, cartooning, drawing, painting, jewelry design, printmaking, mosaics, sculpture, woodworking, and more. The San Francisco campus is located at the corner of 8th and Irwin Streets. It might be a bit confusing as 8th Street almost intersects with 16th Street in this part of town. Moderate street parking.Muni: 10, 19, 22From San Francisco to the Oakland campus: cross the Bay Bridge and take 580 East to 24 East. Exit at Broadway, turn right, and proceed south. The campus is located where Broadway intersects with College Avenue. You can take BART to the Rockridge station and walk south on College Avenue for about seven blocks. You can also take AC Transit 51 or 58 from the BART station to the campus.
