Organization Description: 

The Berkeley Repertory Theatre is a nationally recognized theater company with two contemporary venues near the UC Berkeley campus. Their productions draw critically acclaimed artists from all over the country.They have a School of Theatre for kids, teens, and adults that offers educational programs throughout the year. They have spring and summer camps, and a very competitive internship program.Classes:Choose from a wide variety of theater programs that typically meet for ten weeks, even in the summer. Youth classes include Shadow Puppetry & Theatre (3–4-year-olds and caregivers),  Mythological Adventures (Grades K–1), Witches & Wizards (Grades 2–3), Tell Your Tale: Vampires & Werewolves (Grades 2–4), Performance Workshop: Sleepy Hollow (Grades 4–5), Musical Theatre: Spamalot (abridged version)
(Grades 6–10), Performance Ensembles (Grades 6–8), and private voice lessons (Grades 6–8). Classes for teens include Teen Performance Lab: Romeo and Juliet (Grades 9–12), Emerging Artist Training (Grades 9–12), Directing (Grades 9–12), Demystifying the Interview Process (Grades 9–12), Marionette Puppetry (Beginning): Scarf marionettes (Ages 14 and up), Acting Violence: Unarmed (Ages 16 and up), Private Voice (Grades 9–12), and One-on-One Audition Coaching (Grades 9–12). Scholarships are available and based on financial need.Camps:
The school offers an amazing intensive summer program. Even serious young theater buffs in the City think it's worth the drive or BART ride to attend these camps.2013 Four-week Summer Sessions:Dates/Ages/Days/Times/Cost:
- Session 1: June 17–July 12, grades 6–8, Monday through Friday, 9am–3pm, $1,150
- Session 2: July 16–August 9, grades 9–12, Monday through Friday, 9am–4pm, $1,250
- Teen Actor's Studio: American and European Shorts: June 24–July 6, Mondays through Fridays, 10am–5pm, $800 (Audution required.)

Getting There: 
From San Francisco, cross the Bay Bridge to 80 East toward Berkeley/Sacramento. Take the University Avenue exit. Go east, toward the hills, two miles to Shattuck Avenue. Turn right on Shattuck, go one block to Addison Street and turn right again. The theater is halfway down the block on the right side. Moderate metered street parking is available. There is a parking garage across the street that is priced reasonably.BART: Downtown Berkeley station
