Organization Description:

ArtWorks teaches children, teens, and adults the principles of fine art. Using a classically based method, customized curriculum, and individualized instruction, trained artists offer students a foundation in artistic skills and knowledge. The year-round program starts with drawing, and progresses through watercolor, acrylic, oil, and advanced study courses. Students focus on still life, landscapes, animals, the figure, portraiture, and more. In this wonderfully supportive, non-competitive learning environment, students develop both the confidence and patience to accomplish their artistic goals and have a great time doing it.

Classes:

One-hour classes for kids ages 4 to 8 are offered on weekdays at 3:30pm, 4:45pm, and 6:30pm, and Saturdays at 9 am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, and 4:15pm. One-and-a-half-hour classes for kids 9 and up are offered on weekdays at 4:45pm and 6:30pm, Fridays at 3pm, and Saturdays at 9am, 10:30am, 1pm and 2:30pm.

Camps and Workshops:

ArtWorks offers Summer Workshops and Art Camps for young artists. Art Camps for kids ages 5 to 10 are designed to introduce an exciting variety of materials and art-making processes, encourage and nurture creativity, enhance art skills, and inspire young artists. Students will work in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed-media/collage, sculpting, and more, all in one week. The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:6.
