Organization Description:

AcroSports is a non-profit organization, founded in 1993, that offers year-round classes in acrobatics, gymnastics, circus arts, tumbling, and dance. Their impressive collection of equipment includes rope swings, trampolines, obstacle courses, climbing bars, and trapezes.

Classes: AcroSports' year-round programs serve beginning through advanced levels with age-appropriate programs that teach gymnastics and circus skills in a fun, safe, and challenging environment. Students build conditioning, strength, flexibility, and coordination skills with a variety of specialized classes in gymnastics, acrobatics, circus and aerial arts (aerial rope, trapeze, and hand balancing), Xtreme Sports, capoeira, and Urban Arts (breakdancing, parkour). AcroSports' classes, camps, and birthday parties can all accommodate children with special needs. Private lessons can also be arranged for students seeking one-on-one attention. Teachers are well-versed in individualized instruction and sensory-motor needs, and will work with occupational therapists to tailor classes toward the special needs student. Program fees vary according to the number of hours per week and number of weeks per session. Registration for all programs is handled online.

Camps: AcroSports' week-long Circus and Urban Arts camps promote fitness, self-confidence and group cooperation skills through a variety of activities including circus fundamentals, gymnastics, tumbling, and Urban Arts. AcroSports offers week-long, all-day Gymnastics and Circus camps for youth ages 6 to 12. Campers in the youth program learn a wide variety of circus and gymnastic disciplines, play various group games throughout the day, and participate in any number of activities, including circus arts (aerial tissue/rope), San Francisco's only Zipline and Bungee rides, tumbling, gymnastics, trampoline and FasTrak, breakdancing and Wushu, floor activities including games, rehearsals and choreography for acts/skits, art activities in the solarium, and lunchtime walks to Kezar Stadium. Week-long, half-day KinderCamps are open to kids ages 4 to 5 years old. In the safe, supportive environment of AcroSports, young campers enjoy exhilarating activities with a focus on physical conditioning and fun! AcroSports also provides healthy snacks to re-energize campers between activities. Register early as KinderCamps are limited to 16 students.

Celebrations: AcroSports hosts birthday parties! Kids are encouraged to bounce off the walls. Packages consist of time on the floor with the instructors, followed by pizza, cake, and ice cream in the sunroom behind the gym. Choose from three different packages and enjoy an exciting afternoon that includes organized games, Zipline, and Bungee rides, and more.
