In this hands-on workshop for families, participants will learn some of the most well known traditional Afro-Peruvian rhythms, songs and dances. From the cajón(wooden box drum) now considered a staple in Latin percussion kits around the globe, to the exciting zapateo (footwork), this family-friendly workshop will share the beauty of Perú’s African heritage and demonstrate how percussion and dance are integrated, demonstrating styles such as the festejo, landó andmarinera. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to play, sing and dance to the beautiful rhythms of Perú with the entire family!
