SPORTS CAMP (formerly KIDS CAMP) | Age 5–8  | Weekly, Monday–Friday | 9:00 am–3:30 pmA classic summer camp experience in the heart of the San Francisco Financial District! 2016 marks 20 wonderful summers of Kids' Camp! Located in downtown San Francisco, our facilities provide a beautiful outdoor setting for great summer fun. Every member of our qualified and energetic staff helps provide an amazing camp experience with a variety of safe and exciting activities. We feature small groups (10–12 campers), organized according to age, that rotate through five daily segments of camp with their dedicated Group Leader. Campers will have fun learning new skills, making new friends, and being the best they can be in a non-competitive environment! Activity periods include the following for all sessions (regardless of the weekly theme):TENNISOur tennis professionals will lead kids through fun and supportive instruction focusing on forehands, backhands, serves, and other vital strokes. A balanced blend of drills and games will keep the kids engaged in learning as they nurture a love for the sport. SWIMMINGEvery camper enjoys pool time! Whether your child is a beginner or ready for the swim team, all campers will receive professional instruction tailored to their skill level. Campers will develop their stroke, increase their confidence, and foster life-long—and life saving—skills in the water. SKATEBOARDINGOne of the most popular rotations of the day! Campers (skaters) are taught the importance of safety gear and proper technique, while learning proper footwork and the fundamentals of the sport. The skills learned will also help campers improve in other board sports like surfing, wake boarding, and snow boarding. All skaters will be fitted with a helmet and wrist guards, as well as knee and elbow pads. *In lieu of skateboarding five year olds will have story time in the park.SPORTS AND GAMESUtilizing the vast greenery of nearby Sue Bierman park, campers will enjoy a variety of sporting games. We'll focus on rules of the games, as well as inclusion, team work, and good sportsmanship, while having tons of fun without the pressure of competition. CREATIVE CRAFTSCampers will mold, construct, paint, craft their own works of art. From lanyards to dream catchers and everything in between. We encourage the creativity in every child with our fun projects.Lunch is included in the cost of camp. The catering service allows for all dietary, allergy and preference concerns. Multiple choices are available and you can hand pick your child meal each day. On Fridays, we'll fill the day up with special activities including a fresh BBQ lunch, a secret surprise, plus there's always a good chance of water balloons rocketing through the sky at any moment! The excitement continues at the Pavilion where we meet our family and friends for a memorable camper made go-pro video presentation of all the good times we've shared at Camp together.Price Includes: Skilled instruction in a variety of sports and activities, daily lunch plus morning and afternoon snacks, and a commemorative summer kids camp T-shirt. Special Friday fun day treats, activities, surprise guests, and more! Camp Sessions and Themes: Our themes change from week to week and set the tone for each camp session. With each camp motif, we add another layer of fun on top of the existing activity schedule!PRE-TEEN ADVENTURE CAMP | Age 9–12 | Weekly, Monday–Friday | 9:00 am–3:30 pmA new spin on the classic kids camp for the older, more experienced camper, this program includes fun activities like a visit to the Bay Club San Francisco kitchen for lessons is basic culinary skills, a BBQ, games with water balloons, and more. CIT’s lead by example, they engage, participate and assure all campers are having a great experience. Bay Club at the Gateway Summer Camps offer volunteers an opportunity to gain experience and enrich the community they live in at the same time. As a C.I.T. you will join one of California’s premier lifestyle hospitality clubs, earn community service hours when applicable, and can also request a letter of recommendation from the Director, upon meeting qualifications. As a C.I.T. you will spend time with campers, ages 3–12, supporting games and activities organized by camp staff.  Responsibilities include active participation in the following: tennis, swimming, skateboarding, arts & crafts, and team-building group games, in addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the Camps. All volunteers are required to participate in our two day mandatory training program. Upon completion of the training program the CIT will be certified in first aid, CPR and AED.
