This science program's motto is, "real science, serious fun." Celsius and Beyond is true to its word, offering hands-on activities that focus on the building blocks of science in order to understand advanced concepts and to gain a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Weekday afterschool classes for kids in grades K–6 dive into exploring the human body, digging into chemistry and nutrition through cooking and baking, learning about diseases through technology, among other amazing topics.
Sign up your math wiz for Funmatics, a unique math program that meets once a month for five months. Learn the math of spirals, mazes, games, and more.
Celsius and Beyond is a boutique science camp for small groups of 10 to 14 kids each. Week-long sessions are offered in cell biology, physics, chemistry, and math. Teachers are either scientists from UCSF and SFSU or professionals. Through fun hands-on activities, kids learn in-depth about science topics that are relevant to their lives and demonstrate the inner connectivity of different science disciplines.
Summer camp themes for 2013 include: robotics, endangered species, dissection, surgery, forests, Top Chef, metalsmithing, math, and more.
2013–2014 Week-long Winter Camp Sessions: December 23–27 (no camp Dec. 25), December 30–January 3 (no camp Jan. 1)
Metalsmith Gift Making: Session 1, Grades 5–9; Top Chef Holiday Treats: Session 1, Grades 2–4; Session 2, Grades 4–7; Ballistics: Session 1, Grades 4–6; Session 2, Grades 5–8 (Special Location: Palace of Fine Arts); Grow Your Brain with Ned the Neuron: Session 2, Grades 1–3;
Days/Times: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. 9am–4pm
Cost: $350 per week, $20 discount for additional sessions.
Extended care: 8am–9am, 4pm–6pm. $10–$15 per hour.

Throw a fun science party with the help of the folks at Celsius and Beyond. Choose from party activities such as an Old Time Soda Fountain Party, a Tea Party, a Soap Making Party, a Tie-Dye Party, a Magic Potion Party, and more. You can even make up your own! A two-hour party costs $320 and up.
The studio is located at Balboa between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, one block away from Rossi playground. Difficult street parking.
