Description

The Richmond District YMCA serves the Richmond and surrounding neighborhoods.

Classes:
They offer dance classes, such as ballet, tap, jazz, creative movement, musical theater dance, folk, Scottish country dancing, sports movement for boys, tap, and jazz for kids of all ages. They also offer karate for boys and girls in grades 2–7. The cost per class for program members is $15 and up per class.

For parents who want to work out, they have a drop-in child care program with certified CPR and first aid caregivers. Kids must be between 3 months and 12 years old. The cost is $4 per hour and you must get a punch card for payment.

Camps:
Camps hosted by the Richmond District YMCA are fun and affordable.

2013 Week-long Summer Camp Sessions:
Dates: June 3–August 16
Ages: Grades K–8; CIT grades 9–10
Days/Times: Mondays through Fridays, 9am–4:30pm
Cost: $230 for facility members, $250 for program members; early bird discount available
Extended care: 7:30am–9am (included in cost), 4:30pm–6pm (included in cost)

2013 Spring Break Camp Session:
Dates:
March 25–March 29
Ages: Grades K–5
Days/Times: 7:30am–6pm
Cost: $230 per week facility members, $250 per week for program members

2012–2013 Vacation Day Camps:
Dates: 
October 8 (Indigenous People's Day/Columbus Day), November 12 (Veterans Day), November 21 (Thanksgiving Camp), February 11 (Lunar New Year), February 18 (President's Day)
Ages: Grades K–5
Times: 7:30am–6pm
Cost: $50–$55 per day

2012–2013 Winter Camp Sessions:

December 26–December 28, January 2–January 4
Ages: 4 to 12
Times: 7:30am–6pm
Cost: $150 per session for program members,$165 per session for facility members

Afterschool:
The Richmond Y hosts many afterschool programs for middle to high schoolers, such as FLEX (Fitness Leadership Experience), FLEX Teen Leadership Council, FLEX Y-Skate, Learning Enrichment Afterschool Program (LEAP), the Mighty Panthers After School Program at Presidio Middle School, Model United Nations, the Outdoor Club at Washington High School, a Teen Leadership Council (TLC), GO/GSA (Get Out/Gay Straight Alliance) at Washington High School, ski trips, and a Youth & Government program.

Afterschool programs at Lafayette Elementary and Argonne Elementary are operated by this Y as well.

They also offer gym memberships for teens.
