Description
Awesome (and free!) tennis lessons are available at Golden Gate Park care of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. Open enrollment allows you to sign up anytime throughout the year. Classes are free but you have to donate an unopened can of three tennis balls before you start. You have to bring your own tennis racquet and shoes. Reservations are required and can be made at the clubhouse.

Getting There
Located near JFK Drive on the east end of the park. Easy parking on weekdays, a bit more difficult on weekends when JFK Drive is closed to cars.

Inside the Park: The Shuttle Service, a public service of the Golden Gate Park Concourse Authority, operates 9am–6pm weekends and major holidays. Starting at McLaren Lodge on the eastern edge of the Park and Ocean Beach on the western side, black Bauer shuttles pick up and drop off passengers at 15 Park locations, including the UCSF garage. Tickets are $2 for an all-day, round trip pass.
