Description

So your kid wants to be in the circus. What to do? Sign up at Circus Center, a wonderful facility that is home to the San Francisco School of Circus Arts, Pickle Circus, Clown Conservatory, and the San Francisco Youth Circus.

Classes:
The school offers classes for kids as young as 2 as well as classes and workshops for adults. Here you will learn all the things you need to know to run away and join the circus. Pick from a roster that includes Chinese Acrobatics, Circus Arts, Static Trapeze, and Preschool Acrobatics.

Camps:
Kids of all ages dream about performing with the circus. Whether they just want to clown around or they are ready to try their skill at something more challenging, the Summer Circus Day Camp will give them the opportunity for that dream to come true.

Kids participate in activities such as acrobatics, clowning, juggling, trampoline, flying trapeze, static trapeze and aerial arts, rolla bolla, rolling globe, stilt walking, tight wire, games, and more. Kids get to show off their new circus skills at the end-of-camp performances held every other week.  From the Circus Center: "It is essential to us that each child at Circus Day Camp achieves self-confidence, gains an awareness of the power and potential they possess, and develops a love and understanding of Circus."

Celebrations:
Instead of bringing a clown to your party, bring your party to the clowns. Wow! How about a flying trapeze class for a birthday party?!

The San Francisco Circus Center offers parties such as the "Sampler," which includes lessons in juggling, clowning, acrobatics, balancing, trampoline, and static trapeze. The birthday celebrant will have a starring role in the circus show.

Party packages start at $225 and the cost depends on the number of guests and length of the party. No food is allowed in the training area but there are other rooms available for an additional $50 for one hour of party time.

Getting There

The facility is located across the street from Kezar Stadium near the corner of Frederick/Lincoln Way and Arguello. The other building that looks just like it is the home of Acrosports.

Parking is very difficult in this neighborhood. A parking lot is available across the street at Kezar. Parking is also available two blocks away at the UCSF garage at Carl and Arguello.
