Fostering skills and confidence and providing an outlet for young people's self-expression is a key mission of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center (JCCCNC).
They host events throughout the year for Japanese holidays and traditions.
Classes:
JCCCNC offers a myriad of classes for all ages, including martial arts, music, sports, and other workshops and seminars. Learn how to make mochi in the microwave! Some unusual classes open to youth include taiko drumming and Sambasia (Brazilian samba with Japanese taiko percussion and dance, and Korean Pungmul percussion and dance).
Camps:
In addition to ongoing classes, JCCCNC hosts art, music, dance, and sports camps during spring, summer, and winter breaks. Students learn a new set of skills through cooperation and teamwork, and actively create and discover in a fun and safe environment. Call (415) 567-5505 for more camp information.
