Children's Day School Summer and Winter Program

Children's Day School (CDS) is a private preschool and elementary program in the heart of the Mission District. They have a wonderful facility, with lots of outdoor space that includes an organic garden and a mini-farm with sheep and chickens. CDS opens their school to non-CDS students, from preschool through teens, for their summer and school break camps.

There are two-week and one-week summer sessions, each with different themes, such as farming/gardening, music/movement, theater/drama, sports/games. Preschoolers 3 years and up and kindergartners are in one camp, while first- through fourth-graders are in another camp. The older camp will go on field trips to museums, ballgames, and hikes, and participate in volunteer activities.

2012 One and Two-week Summer Sessions:
Dates: June 18–August 19
Ages: preschool (minimum 3 years old and potty trained) to teens
Days/Times: Mondays through Fridays, 9am–5pm
Cost: $300 and up per session, sliding scale
Extended care: 8am–9am, 5pm–6pm ($15 per hour)

2013 Winter Break Session:
Dates: January 2–January 4
Ages: preschool (minimum 3 years old and potty trained) to teens
Days/Times: Wednesday–Friday, 8am–6pm
Cost: sliding scale
